B.Sc. Cognitive Science, M.Sc. Student
Jennifer obtained her bachelor’s degree in cognitive science from the University of Tübingen and is now a master student in the cognitive science program. From early on, she had a special interest in mental disorders. After attending Nils’ seminar on computational psychiatry and learning about the possible applications of computational approaches to discover underlying causes of mental disorders, she decided to expand her knowledge in this area of expertise and subsequently joined the neuroMADLAB team.
Given the on-going discussion of issues concerning scientific research practices such as the replication crisis, she is highly interested in open science approaches. With her background in programming, which includes prior knowledge of Java, one part of her work is focused on app-programming. The development of this app will support data crowdsourcing based on computational psychiatry principles in order to shed light on the neural correlates of binge eating disorder. For her thesis, Jennifer is working on changes in functional connectivity between the prefrontal cortex and the striatum induced by drugs.
